Sun Spritz™ FAQ

Q: Do you have to turn around in the booth?
A: No. Stationary spray jets are positioned 360° around the user.

Q: How safe is it?
A: Injury in the Sun Spritz™ System is very unlikely because there are no moving parts and you do not need to turn around as you must do in most other units on the market. Because you are only in the unit for a few seconds, you will not lose your balance, unlike spending over a minute with closed eyes and posing in different positions which can cause unbalance, especially when there are moving parts to contend with.

Q: Will my tan be natural looking?
A: Within seconds you will be misted from head to toe with an even, natural colored solution. You can expect to see consistent color within hours.

Q: How long does it take?
A: The Sun Spritz™ unit takes only a few seconds due to the high-pressure atomizer valve spray system, which means you are in and out in less time. Other units can take well over 60 seconds.

Q: Do I have to use barrier cream?
A: No. all other units use barrier cream to cover up fingernails, toenails, dry skin areas and any other absorbent areas due to excessive staining of the skin. This can take up to 5 minutes per session. It is important to note that any excess cream will cause white patches. Our experience has shown that once the session is finished, it is advised to lightly massage the body all over to penetrate the lotion further into the skin and even out any residue. It is then recommended to wash the hands and feet to remove excess lotion, eliminating the use of barrier cream.

Q: Can I go swimming or shower after my tanning session in the Sun Spritz™ booth?
A: We recommend that you wait for at least 5 hours before swimming or showering. Chlorinated water from swimming could possibly bleach the solution and possibly cause streaking. We have found that waiting for the appropriate amount of time gives the DHA time to completely set. If you shower or swim too early, it will diminish the intensity of your tan. When you do shower the initial tan created by the water-soluble bronzer will wash off, but the DHA will remain intact and create a longer lasting tan.

Q: How long should I wait before I put my clothes back on after my session?
A: Once you have rubbed the solution in over your body and toweled dried, there is little chance that the bronze will get on your clothes. If you are doing strenuous activities after your session, your perspiration may cause the bronzer to transfer to your clothing. The bronzing solution is water-soluble and will wash out.

Q: How many sessions will I need to achieve the color I want?
A: You will have some color after one session. It may take several sessions to achieve your preferred color. Once your desired color has been achieved you will be able to maintain it by tanning every four to five days.

Q: Can I tan in tanning equipment and in the sun if I tan in the Sun Spritz™ tanning booth?
A: Yes. In fact, customers have found that using UV rays with the Sun Spritz™ solution boosts their overall color appearance. If you plan to tan in the Sun Spritz™ booth and in a tanning bed on the same day it is recommended to use the UV tanning equipment first. It is very important to remember that the Sun Spritz™ tan DOES NOT GIVE YOU ANY PROTECTION FROM UV RAYS.

Q: I have never been able to tan before because of my fair skin color. Will I see results in the Sun Spritz™ tanning booth?
A: Yes. The Sun Spritz™ tanning booth now gives customers the option of achieving a tan without the use of UV lamps or sunlight from outdoor activity.

Q: Should I wear clothing in the Sun Spritz™ tanning booth?
A: Most generally customers do not wear clothing of any kind. The room is completely private and it is perfectly acceptable to tan in the nude. If you do opt to wear clothing such as a swimsuit, be aware that whatever you are wearing may become stained. The bronzing solution is water-soluble and should wash out of anything you wear, but the DHA application itself may cause permanent stains on clothing you wear inside the booth itself.

Q: What will happen if the Sun Spritz™ solution gets in my eyes?
A: There is nothing in the solution that will harm your eyes. We do however recommend closing your eyes for the few seconds that the misting process takes.

Q: Can I have an allergic reaction to the Sun Spritz™ tanning solution?
A: All the products contained in the Sun Spritz™ solution have proven to be safe for use on the skin. However if you have had previous allergic reaction to self-tanning products or cosmetics we recommend a "patch test". This consists of putting a small amount of the solution on a small area of skin to test for any possible reaction.

Q: Should I hold my breath during the Sun Spritz™ tanning session?
A: We do recommend that you hold your breath during the misting process, which lasts only a few seconds. We say this only because most customers would rather not breath in the mist even though there is nothing in the solution that would cause you harm. If you have a history of asthma or other breathing difficulties we recommend that you tan in the Sun Spritz™ tanning booth only after consulting with your physician.

Q: Do I need to cover my hair during the tanning session?
A: We recommend wearing a disposable shower cap (provided by the salon) to prohibit the solution from getting in hair. The Sun Spritz™ solution will not harm hair, as it does not penetrate the hair follicle.

Q: Will the Sun Spritz™ solution leave an unpleasant smell on my skin?
A: We have noticed that customers notice a smell on their skin right after tanning but is not usually noticed by others around them.

Q: Will I be wet after my tanning session?
A: The application process consists of a very fine mist, After you step out of the booth, simply rub in excess solution and towel dry. Toweling off wilt not cause the solution to streak. It is recommended to wash hands thoroughly after your session.

Q: How can I enhance the tanning results from the Sun Spritz™?
A: We recommend exfoliating your body prior to your session. If you are not able to do the exfoliation process it is recommended that you apply an approved moisturizer prior to application to rough areas of your body such as knees or elbows. However after your session you should not apply any moisturizer or lotion to your body for the initial "set-up" time of 5 hours. As with any tanning process, an approved moisturizer will only enhance your tanning results.
